RE: [Harp-L] Re: That Time of Year Again... (Lip Balm)

Deb--

Chopsaver is the lip balm I use. Highly recommended. While the special
ingredients and benefits can be seen on their website, I'll tell you
my experience with it....

It keeps my lips in great shape for playing (having certain medicinal
properties for dry lips and sore muscle tissue), but if I've applied it
recently before playing, it slows me down. So I just wipe it off with a
quick swipe of the back of my hand and I'm ready to play.

Funny thing about gumming vs. not gumming--during Stan Harper's Big Band
reading session at SPAH last month, my CX-12 slide started squeaking.
I quickly wiped a little residual Chopsaver from my lips and onto the
offending end of the slide, and voila! all was quiet.

Other than that, I play Suzuki chromatics and various diatonic (mostly
valved), and none of the slides or valves have been hindered by Chopsaver.
